Mix Series - Part 3 - Deathmachine & Live Evil

Firstly, before we get onto this weeks exclusive mix, we'd just like to say a huge thank you to all who made the MethLab event in Manchester the sweaty success it was.
Sindrome and Neuron Pro deserve huge shout-outs for organising, promoting and ensuring the sound quality was second to none.  The artists should all be proud of themselves as everyone played out of their skin!  Of course, it also takes an enthusiastic and supportive crowd to make any event work and we were not let down in Manchester.  So, thanks to everyone from crew, artists and punters alike.
You all rule!  Now onto...

The Mix

For this, the third part of our current mix series, all you hardcore techno fans are in for a treat.  This coming Saturday (15th June 2013) sees the return of the legendary Live Evil event at London's Electrowerks.  To celebrate we have our first exclusive mix from our latest signing, Deathmachine who, alongside MethLab hardcore superstars The DJ Producer and The Teknoist, will be tearing it up at Live Evil and showcasing a wealth of new material.

Deathmachine - MethLab promo mix - June 2013

Just in case you missed the previous mixes from this series, here they are again...

Part 2 - Cooh

Part 1 - Undead Roniin

Releases

Deathmachine

Despite working away on his debut full length album for The Third Movement, Deathmachine still has a flurry of tracks coming out this year. With every year that passes, the more prolific this man gets. It's his continued quality as well as quantity that ensures he's always in high demand for shows all across Europe.

2013 releases:
"Fighting For A New World" (solo track) on Third Movement 200
"The Journey" (solo track) on Nekrolog1k LP 002
"Destination Underground" (remix) on Neophyte Records 076

Forthcoming releases:
"Hallucinations" & "Hell-e-vator" (2 collab tracks with The Dj Producer) on Rebelscum 033 (Out on Friday 14th June 2013 and available at Live Evil this Saturday)
"Sins" (collab track with Igneon System) on Heresy 001 (Out on Thursday 27th June 2013)
"Necessary Evil" (collab track with FraGz) on Future Sickness (Release date tbc)
"Sectioned" (solo track) on Section 18 001 (Release date tbc)

The Teknoist

Yet another one of our guys that refuses to rest on his laurels.  The Teknoist is currently running three labels, Ninja Columbo, Samurai Brylkreem and Our Fucking Jungle and has also putting the finishing touches to his third full length album.  As of July 2013, both Ninja Columbo and Samurai Brylkreem will be going digital.  There will still be 2-3 vinyl releases per year, but in an effort to get the backlog of tracks out there and into your grubby little hands, both those labels will see the output increased to monthly via all good digital stores.

This Saturday will see the release of the latest Ninja Columbo (Nii008) 12" which features the collaboration of The Teknoist and Johnty Warrior in a homage to the legendary Deathchant imprint.  The vinyl will initially be available at this Saturdays Live Evil event and then from The Hard Store.

The Ninja's Dutiful Salute to Deathchant (Nii008)

The DJ Producer

The last of our Live Evil warriors and a man who needs little introduction, The DJ Producer has a storming ep out on The Third Movement entitled Journey's Never End.  We've blogged this release already, but since it's so goddamn large, it well and truly deserves another mention!
His collaboration with Deathmachine, Come Hell Or High Tempo (Rebelscum 33) is also out this week, with the first copies being available at Live Evil this Saturday. The vinyl pressing of this is very limited but digital versions will follow shortly.

All the releases we've mention are either currently available or soon to be available from www.thehardstoremp3.com

Live Evil

Simon Underground, the man behind Underground Music, The Hard Store, Live Evil and the backbone of the UK (if not the worlds) hardcore techno scene, has been integral to the careers of so many MethLab artists over the years. Without his devotion it's likely that many of the tunes you hold dear to your heart would never of seen the light of day. For this reason we are proud to make some noise on his behalf over this Saturdays Live Evil event.  These events don't run as often as they once did, but when the do, they're special - bit like the MethLab events ;)

New Release // The Sect Music vs Subsistenz Pt.2

And so comes the second part of the collaboration between the  DnB crews that haunt Berlin - The Sect Music and Subsistenz. When 2 of the finest and most forward thinking labels in this Neuroid hybrid of Techno and Drum and Bass come together; expectations are high... and we are not disappointed. In my opinion, Machine Code's 'Red Unit' represents one of the finest examples of a tilted form of this long running genre in recent times. It sounds like a form of impatient Techno, that's given up on a slower pace of life and decided to make better friends with a particularly tight snare. This is a track that resounds with clarity and both production and mastering give it the kind of high definition that begs to be heard on a huge and well balanced system. An interestingly syncopated beat in combination with squelching synths that sound like they are escaping being crushed by the weight of time itself, are set amidst the kind of beeps that are so resonant with Machine Code's sound and easily conjure the vision of being deep within some the efficient confines of a relentless machine factory. This is truly future music.

Coupled with this are 2 tracks from him known as Current Value, which provide much the standard that we've come to expect from this towering figure of an artist.  The excellently named 'Flip Step' (it should have a genre of its own), provides a restrained assault of synth and scientifically ordered percussion. A brief but brilliant half-step breakdown in the middle of the track provides some much needed air, before the assault continues. The remaining track 't350' is somewhat of a slightly newer sounding direction for CV and wouldn't go amiss at a big arena DnB rave - in both the friendly pads and the call/answer lead. I'm guessing that these 2 tracks are a prelude of what we can expect on the new Current Value album later this Summer.. but let's eagerly wait and see.

MethLab Mix Series Week 2 // COOH

For the second week in our Summer Long audio odyssey, we present one of the most prolific contemporary producers making heavy and experimental music today. Ivan Shopov has several monikers; with his ethnically-infused Electronica and Dubstep under Balkansky or Techno under Drum Kid. But his longest running name, that has made him an icon in the heavy DnB scene; is that of 'Cooh'. Consistently delivering some of the most intense and exciting music through his energetic and involved style of Dj'ing - he remains one of the most revered artists in the heavy waters.

His recent release of the 'Rebirth' LP re-stated his intentions within DnB - showcasing both his dark and heavy styles, as well as moments of intricate beauty. This mix of exclusively Cooh's tunes (including collaborations) showcases the raw intensity of his music, as well as his fluidity and diversity within the DnB genre.

For bookings - we have a few Summer dates available and are considering Autumn proposals currently. Get in touch with jef@methlab-agency.com if you're interested in bringing Cooh to your city!

A summer of new mixes coming your way

Hey ho folks! Summer is upon us, which means it must be mix season.   Throughout all of 2013 we will endeavour to upload brand new and exclusive mixes every week to our SoundCloud page from each and every one of our artists.  Make sure you're subscribed to our blog, twitter, facebook, mailing list, etc. as these mixes will be coming out thick and fast and we'd hate for one to pass you by.

First up is a mix from Undead Roniin, the two headed samurai that is The Teknoist & Scheme Boy. Featuring new tracks and mashups of old Ninja Columbo releases, this decks vs ableton set is just a little taster of their new show, which you can catch live on May 31st at MethLab Manchester (see below for more details).

MethLab Manchester - 31st May 2013 - Hosted by Sindrome

It's been 6 months since the last MethLab event in the UK and what a belter it was to!  The Neverlution Sound System really set the benchmark with that one.  You can see some video footage where they video mapped loads of MethLab visuals over the rig itself.  It was a sight to behold.  Check out the video here...

Video mapping the Neverlution rig @ Methlab 1st birthday from alex wright on Vimeo.

Soundtrack to that video by Scheme Boy.

So, with the benchmark well and truly set, it's time to take MethLab up to the North of England, where our good friends Sindrome will be hosting another night of audio carnage in good ole Manchester. This time the event will be powered by the mighty Neuron Pro Soundsystem, so you can expect a seriously crystal clear sound with all the weight you'd ever need.

The line up, as you've come to expect from us by now, is set to cover all angles, by artists that are at the top of their game.
Ad Noiseam's new boy wonder, Gore Tech, and his Peace Off stablemate, Monster X, will be delivering the frentic breakcore we all know and love.
Sindrome hosts Xellmode & Sixlines will be showcasing an all new live techno set, plus a splattering of bass driven noise from Drilly Wonka.
The Sect need little introduction to all you DnB heads out there.  It will be hard and techy DnB that we at MethLab just adore.
Undead Roniin (aka The Teknoist & Scheme Boy) are planning another genre bending, decks vs ableton smasher.  This summer marks ten years since these two started working together and makes this event a special anniversary for them both.
Last, but certainly not least, we have our latest signing heading up the bill.  The one and only DJ Producer of Deathchant and Rebel Scum fame.  The DJ Producer has been synonymous with hardcore techno the world over for the past 20 years.  A true creator you could say.  Well for this night we have given him free reign to play what the hell he wants and we're sure he's keen to exploit that.

All in all, another MethLab line up to make you shit your pants.  See ya down the front punx!

New Releases // May Roundup

"April is the cruellest month..." apparently.. but for the MethLab roster, it was a pretty awesome month - seeing the releases one of the year's finest albums - Rebirth, from Cooh (one of our favourites alongside Machinecode's Under The Sun). May is set to continue this trend of sheer awesomeness, with the first part of the collaboration between Berlin's The Sect Music and Subsistenz out now, and a slew of other excellent releases incoming. Check below for some tasty previews of what's out now and what you can expect later this month...
To book any of the artists below contact: jef@methlab-agency.com

Current Value // Flip Step (The Sect Music vs. Subsistenz pt.II)

The first part of this excellent collaborative ep is available to buy from Beatport now, following its release last week. But if this left you hungry for more, then check out one of the forthcoming tracks for the second part, due at the end of the month.

Current Value // So Loud / Go Offline / Experiment / Gear Up (Subtrakt)

Forthcoming on Subdivision Media's dubstep element - Subtrakt; comes this shuddering wall of technically precise machinestep from Current Value. Available to buy from 13/05/2013 from here. CV remains one of the most consistent producers in the scene, with his unique sound flourishing at slower tempos - providing space to concentrate on the detail of his off the wall synthesis. Current Value is available for Dubstep as well as DnB sets, so get in touch with jef@methlab-agency.com to get him to your event.

Dj Producer // Modus Operandi (Third Movement)

An absolute monster of a tune - tightly undulating breakbeats wrapped around a deliciously chunky kick. Like some bastard offspring of Crossbreed, tight halfstep DnB, Techno and Hardcore... it is nothing short of a dancefloor tremor in the high end of the richter scale. Get your hands on it on May 16th...

Balkansky // A Storm (ABCD - Free Release)

The ever generous production machine, Ivan Shopov, has released a 2 track experimental E.P. under his Balkansky moniker which you can grab for free here. 2 tracks of lovely murky downtempo electronica to evoke visions of the tense interactions of particles and static discharge of Spring storms. You can also enjoy the official video that complements it below.

Optiv & CZA // Journey Inwards EP (Cause4Concern Recordings)

Optiv (One part of Cause4Concern) in collaboration with CZA are set to put out another of their trademark forays into explorative DnB. 3 tracks with different takes on the sound, varying between minimally restrained and emotively phrased. A true demonstration of their production prowess, this EP isn't to be missed - check out the previews below and keep an eye out for a release date!

Drum Kid // Gravitation / Arel / Racks (Space Research)

Last but not least is another of Ivan Shopov's pseudonyms - Drum Kid. A project that started life as making tracks at airports and on his various journeys across the world, and focusses on minimal techno. If techno is your thing (and it's certainly ours), then check these out... and buy them here

New Release // The Sect Music vs. Subsistenz

An awesome collaboration of 2 of Berlins best evolved DnB labels is set for launch next Monday (6th May 2013), with some serious technoid business from the unarguable pioneers of the sound Current Value, The Sect and Machinecode. This EP represents the first of a 2 part release - with the first appearing through Subsistenz, and the 2nd through new, and uncompromisingly solid label - The Sect Music, at the end of the month. It's been an amazing year so far for releases from the Berlin DnB crew, with Machinecode's excellent 'Under The Sun' album seeing the light of day (or dark of night), the launch of The Sect's own label and the continuation of a heavy schedule of releases set for the coming months - including a new album from Current Value and further releases lined up from The Sect.  Check the previews of the release below, and get ready to order this essential wax on Monday.

Cooh's latest L.P. has is imminently to drop on Panacea's revered Position Chrome label, and my, my, my.. like a bag of angry demons, it's struggling at the hemlines to contain the sheer weight of the punishing DnB contained within. Rebirth features 20 tracks of tightly engineered sonic violence, and including collaborations from the likes of his brothers in the scene - Current Value, Panacea, Donny, Counterstrike and Gancher & Ruin. You can pre-order it on Position Chromes Band Camp - here and in the meantime.. here's a couple of clips to wet your appetite...

Ladyscraper

Coming at you like Phil Anselmo with his cock in one hand and a canvas bag full of Gabber kicks in the other, new MethLab signing Ladyscraper alternates between beating the shit from your bowels and transporting you to lovely fairy castles surrounded by flying unicorns.

So far in 2013, Ladyscraper has released ‘The Witch’ as another free DL album on Grindcore Karaoke.  The legendary Agrophobic Nosebleed posted this about the release ‘This shit is LIGHTYEARS ahead of anything ANB has ever done musically. Grindcore is almost 30 fuckin' years old, it's nice to be listening to something that actually sounds like 2013 for a change’. Following The Witch we have the second free DL Ladyscraper Album of 2013, The Wizard, which will be landing on Rotator’s Peace off imprint late April, followed by a split on Ninja Columbo with Skull Vomit and Dr. Bastardo early summer.

The new CORE of MethLab

At MethLab, we've always had our toes dipped in to the worldwide Core arena as much as we have with cutting edge techy DnB and dub fused electronica. We've wanted to keep the roster as diverse as possible, whilst at the same time representing artists that could quite happily sit alongside each other at any rave in the world. We know the most discerning of you like variety as long as the quality is maintained. Well, quality is not something our roster lacks. All our artists are at the top of their game in their respective fields and our latest signings are certainly no exception.

Please welcome to the stage, The DJ Producer and Deathmachine!

Luke McMillan aka The DJ Producer

If you've been anywhere near the dirty end of techno in the past 20 years, you may know the name.
If you've been anywhere near a UK or European festival in the last 10 years, its more than likely you know the name.
But, if you've had any dealing with the underground hardcore techno scene since its conception, then you DEFINITELY know the name!

Luke has been in the game long enough and strong enough to have played pretty much EVERY relevant underground organisation there is to play for. Over 20 years in over 20 countries. Damn straight. But Luke's motivation is beyond purely clocking miles, or scratching notches on bedposts.
His passion for music stems way, way back, and his hunt for the elusive and exclusive cuts made him what he is, couple this with a devastating mixing technique that rivals most computers and his over keen spidey sense to adapt to the dance floors demands and you have one of the most enthralling jocks ever to emerge from the UK's murky underground depths........The music may be filthy, but Luke understands its every nuance intimately, and his performances demonstrate this....control freakery within chaos, and no sync buttonin sight :)

Read Luke's full biography HERE

Stef Eyre aka Deathmachine

Stef has been actively involved in the underground Hardcore scene since 1998 and has now played at nearly every major Hardcore Techno event in the country.  He started dabbling in production around 2000 and released his first track on Corrupt records in 2001. The next few years were spent developing and experimenting but soon more tracks followed including notable releases on the iconic Rebelscum and Deathchant labels.  Soon, a connection was made with The DJ Producer who supported Deathmachine's sound greatly, and eventually they worked together on various releases which included the very successful track "Pixelshifter" on Rebelscum.

Always active in the studio, his focus is on creating powerful genre-pushing (but still of course danceable) music that engages the listener on a number of levels. At this time (start of 2013) there are forthcoming releases on Rebelscum (2 collaborations with The DJ Producer), Nekrolog1k Recordings, Future Sickness and more yet to be announced.

Deathmachine is currently working on his first solo album which will represent every dimension of Hardcore Techno that he knows and loves. His background in underground Hardcore along with his new work in the direction of Crossbreed and D'n'B results in great diversity both in the studio and in the clubs.

MethLab present.. Biological Tourfare with Gore Tech vs Skull Vomit

This April sees a true clash of breakcore titans as DJ Skull Vomit and Gore Tech go head to head in a battle across Europe. The tour will only be taking place during the last few weeks of April 2013, so get in touch asap to secure your date.

GORE TECH’s sound can be described as Ragga Deathstep utilizing the sounds of Dub, Hardcore and Dancehall crossbred with heavy metal time signatures and overdriven subsonic fusions. Influenced by everything from Electric Wizard to DJ Shadow his style is still yet to settle into an established grove. Currently focusing on the well produced styles of crossbreed and breakcore mutations, his Toxic styles of Jungle and Hardcore are tearing up dance floors all across Europe. Gore Tech's debut EP on Ad Noiseam has already got everyone itchy with anticipation. The Machine Throne EP will drop on March 11th. You have been warned!

SKULL VOMIT, aka Tony Welter has left the Eustachian name behind to concentrate on his 2 still very heavily metal influenced solo projects. One (Singaya), a dubstep driven, electronic grind scuffle and the other, (Skull Vomit) a more fast paced industrial breakcore riot. Either way, the original Eustachian blue print is still present but evolved, adapted and personalized to cover 2 very different but quite closely related bastard children. The debut Skull Vomit album was as it should always be, a monster of an album and split released on the legendary stables of Cock Rock Disco and Peace Off. An example of the sound should now start to grow in your head. Now add the imminent appearances about to drop on Deathchant, Ninja Columbo and a remix for Bong Ra on PRSPCT Records. Now you should really know what to expect. Well, expect that and then turn your expectations up to 11. Okay, now you’re close.

In anticipation of this tour, the boys have kidly done us an exclusive mix showcasing some of their latest aural assaults.  Check it out here...

The Teknoist: Signal Flow Podcast

The Signal Flow podcasts have brought some great mixes to our attention over the years and today is no exception as our very own Miike Teknoist gets to ram his point home with his usual fire, gutso and splattering of zombie parts.  The mix itself is very MethLab as it features tracks from Machine Code, Underhill, Gore Tech, Rotator and Scheme Boy, who as you all know, are all part of our international family.

Tracklist:
01. Machine Code - 93 Million Miles
02. Silent Killer - Supremacy Bleeds (Counterstrike Duo Remix)
03. The Teknoist & Dolphin - Choir Cutz
04. Igneon System - Hit The Hood
05. Cooh & CA2K - Rebirth
06. The Hardway - Devil Worshipping Motherfuckers
07. DJ Hidden - Lights Out
08. THE Teknoist & Smyla - Beastage
09. Underhill - River of Fire (Gore Tech Remix)
10. Silent Killer & Breaker & DJ Hidden - Phantom Dust
11. I:Gor - Infinate Loop
12. The Teknoist & Johnty Warrior - Chop Your Chin
13. The Outside Agency - The Fabric Of Life
14. Bjork - Mutual Core (Undead Ronin aka The Teknoist & Scheme Boy Mutated Core Rmx)
15. Detest - Beat & Pulse
16. Rotator - No Surrender
17. The Teknoist & Dolphin - Fight to the Death

In other Teknoist related news, the next Ninja Columbo will be released in the coming month. It’s a tribute EP to the label that influenced so many of todays current Core artists. No other label released as many timeless tracks that still get as much attention on turntables as even the most popular modern day label.

Titled ‘THE NINJAS DUTIFUL SALUTE TO DEATHCHANT’, the EP title explains it all…

Also just having the final touches added is his collaboration with amen savage, Smyla. Sounding like the most aggressive game of audio monster tennis in the multiverse, it is up for release by the end of March on Samurai Brylkreem. The current Samurai Brylkreem release is still available.  Give it a listen here...

If you haven't already grabbed your copy of Ninja Columbo 7 then give the previews a blast here and get ordering your copy whilst there are still a few in existence.

All these, as usual, will be distributed by www.thehardtsore.com on vinyl and mp3.

In addition to his Signal Flow mix, you can also listen to his recent mix for Kutski's radio show here...

Now taking worldwide bookings, but especially looking for some home grown UK shows.

Machine Throne - Ad Noiseam - March 11

'Machine Throne' is set for release March 11thRead more about it and get you pre-orders in over at Ad Noiseam and in the meantime - check out the taster medley of tracks from the EP below, as well as his recent 'Mainframe Warfare' mix covering many of his upcoming releases for the first quarter of this year!

Machine Code //                         Bookings //    Jef@methlab-agency.com

Under The Sun - Subsistenz - March 4

We've had a lot to say about this album in the past couple of months, and simply that's because it's amazing. One of the tightest sounding DnB albums we've heard in the past year, but with some unusual and nice amen rinseouts amongst the precise kick and snare experimentation going on here. You can get your pre-orders in for the vinyl and album CD pack here at Tirple Vision, and in addition to this, we're taking bookings between Feb-April for the release tour.

Current Value //                         Bookings //    Jef@methlab-agency.com

Stay On This Planet LP - Subsistenz - March / April

Perhaps one of the busiest and more prolific experimenters in the world of DnB, and hot off the heels of the Machine Code LP... there's also word of a new CV album set to drop suddenly in the next few months. You can probably hear some of the tracks on this forthcoming album in his most recent Ultramonics mix - which you can listen to below!

Techno Sedation (CV Remix) - Underground Promotions - Feb 25

A heavy dubstep - techno hybrid that has one of the most brutal and well designed kick drums that I've heard in recent times. A 'sedation' of Mystification original DnB piece on the flip of the record; this futuristic, primarily techno stepper, with it's smeared and twisted bass elements, is an essential purchase - you can grab it from Triple Vision here or purchase online.

The Sect Music //                         Bookings //    Jef@methlab-agency.com

Current Value - The Sect - Dean Rodell // BURN IN / GLITCH / THOUGHT MACHINES - Out Now

Another road cut in the path Berlin DnB residents' DnB // Techno // Neurofunk crossover sound. 3 of the sound's most productive and forward thinking pioneers on a single release.. and incredibly loaded slab of vinyl for this label's 2nd physical output. We're looking for promoters to put on TSM label nights across Europe currently - with successful events already underway in Bristol and Berlin... more cities need to get close and personal with this powerful form of DnB.

2methylBulbe1ol //                         Bookings //    Jef@methlab-agency.com

Your Computer is Under Arrest (2methylBulbe1ol Testify) - Acroplane - T.B.A

A faster and glitchy melodic IDM affair from 2methyl, on another great label - Acroplane. This from Stazma's Acid Bleep EP, which features more of the amazing artwork from Artist Shift.. whose logos and artwork adorn the covers of many of our favourite artists.

Cooh //                         Bookings //    Jef@methlab-agency.com

Rebirth LP - Position Chrome - T.B.A

A new full-length LP from heavy DnB legend Cooh, also featuring tracks from a selection of artists from the heavy hall of fame, including Limewax, Current Value, Counterstrike, Donny and The Panacea. Trifonic European Tour 2013 with Hecq & Underhill

We're losing track of how many of our blog posts have started with the words “ we are proud to have...” and the reason for this is that there are few other words available when letting y'all know about the amazing artists we have the good fortune to represent. Well, we now have new reason for our pride, as we have been given the honour or bringing Trifonic over to Europe from the States for their debut European tour this summer!

Trifonic first made waves back in 2008 with their debut full length release, Emergence.  It's blend of styles, sonic tapestries, thoughtful production and real instrumentation brought electronica up to date and filled the void left wide open since the Warp Records' heyday.

The 2012 follow up, Ninth Wave is, if anything, an even stronger record and displays a greater maturity in the composition and production.  This is hardly surprising when you consider that in the 4 year gap between albums, Trifonic built up their reputation as production masters by a series of never ending blog posts, giving away all manner of productions tips and secrets and worked on the soundtracks to a multitude of games, including the very successful Assassins Creed and Halo series.

Ninth Wave is what convinced us we had to get them over to European shores.  If you haven't heard it yet, the full album is available to preview on their Soundcloud page.

As if bringing Trifonic over to Europe wasn't exciting enough, we have also been fortunate enough to secure Ad Noiseam favourites Hecq and Underhill as main support options for this tour. Ad Noiseam is undoubtedly one of our favourite labels and the majority of our roster has released on it at some point in their career. Adding Hecq and Underhill to the roster for this tour just seemed like the most natural thing in the world.

If you haven't heard the Hecq remix of Trifonic's Baalbek yet, then you need to re-address your priorities in life!  Have a listen now, it's incredible...

Underhill is perhaps one of the first supergroups of the modern dub infused electronica sound, of which we at MethLab are no strangers. The group comprises of Dean Rodell, Current Value and Cooh, who are already known to you from the MethLab roster. They are also joined by Mc Coppa and Martina Astener and on occasion by Nick and James from Senser.

Their debut album “Silent Siren” was released in 2012 on Ad Noiseam records to rave reviews. It's fusion of dub, trip hop, drum & bass and lush soundscapes makes it one of those records that gets more beautiful with every listen.

You can watch the official video of their Hiding The Light track here...

We are now taking bookings for Trifonic across Europe with Hecq and/or Underhill as main support.  Get in touch asap to secure this amazing tour package for your festival/event.

New Release // The Sect & Current Value

Out today and available in Beatport now is the latest from The Sect's awesome new label 'The Sect Music'. Comprising the 2nd digital release on the label and featuring 2 tracks of the kind of calibre that you would expect of The Sect and Current Value, this is a must have for any self-respecting purveyor of hard technoid DnB. The Sect's track 'Recall' brings us back to the days of prodigy style rave and hardcore, but twisted into the mould of their own brand of DnB... a wicked combination that won't fail to get people dancing. Current Value's 'Hydrolic' features his typically heavily compressed sound with a flurry and pattering of restlessly fast stabs, and is perfect fare for the early hours of warehouse raves everywhere.  Listen below and then head over to Beatport to get your hands on these necessary components in your collection!

New Release // Machinecode - Under The Sun

The mighty collaboration between 2 of the most significant artists in contemporary experimental Drum and Bass, Dean Rodell and Current Value, is set to release their 2nd full length L.P. in the first half of February.

Machinecode first came to my attention a few years ago with a mix that they created for Combat Recordings; the complexity and dynamic nature of which totally blew me away. The precise technicality of the drum edits, with soaring and beautiful lead lines and shimmering ambient vistas setting the background for the brutal annihilatory techno infused syncopation... this duo plugged a hole musical gap that was begging to be filled since the inception of this technoid form. Following their early release, their first album 'Environments' was nothing short of a manifesto of experimentation of kick/snare placement, spanning multiple genres and defining new territory in each.

However, this new album represents a slight shift in sound - retaining their influences, while really placing focus on creating a truly DnB led album with 'riff led main arena smashers' alongside 'organic gritty rollers'. Seeking to take their potential that they've accrued to date to put out a truly towering record that is set to set the world of Drum and Bass alight, or perhaps rather mechanise this landscape and bend it to their vision. The release will include a collaboration with fellow MethLab artists 'The Sect' and a remix by the ever forward thinking dancefloor destroyer 'Dj Hidden'.

You can check out a few previews of 3 of the 11 tracks in the Soundcloud player below.. and this will be continually updated as more previews are added in the run up to the release, so keep checking back! Also expect an imminent mix incoming, which we'll be putting out everywhere humanly possible... everybody needs to hear this!
